International Jury

Birgit Acar

 

Birgit Acar holds an M.A. in film studies and comparative literature. She works as a cinema programmer for the Filmmuseum Potsdam (Institut der Filmuniversität Babelsberg „Konrad Wolf“). In 2012 she was invited by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH to be a jury member for the Ousmane Sembčne Films for Development Award at the Zanzibar International Film Festival. She was part of the programme commission for the documentary festival dokumentART in Neubrandenburg/Szczecin from 2006 until 2013 and works for other juries and selection committees, e.g. at the Berlin International Film Festival (Generation, since 2011) and the International Short Film Festival Hamburg (jury member, German Competition in 2013).
 
 
 
 
prof. Kamil Kuskowski PhD

Born in Zakopane, where he attended the Kenar School of Fine Arts. He also studied at the Strzemiński Academy of Art in Łódź. In 2005 he received earned his PhD, in 2008 he earned his habilitation, and in 2012 became a professor. He worked at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, and currently he is employed at the Art Academy of Szczecin, where he runs the Audiovisual Workshop at the New Media Department. He is also the Dean of the Faculty of Painting and New Media at the Art Academy of Szczecin. A few years ago he ran the Zona Sztuki Aktualnej Gallery in Łódź. Currently he is continuing his passion, which resulted in his Art Academy Zona Sztuki Aktualnej Gallery in Szczecin. Kuskowski paints, makes installations and video art. He has been working with Piekary Gallery in Poznań and m2 Gallery in Warsaw.

 

Cecilia Lidin

With a background in academic film studies  Cecilia Lidin has for more than 20 years worked with the financing and development of documentary films in the international documentary environment. Between 1992 and 1996 as loans officer in the first MEDIA program office in Copenhagen DOCUMENTARY. This was followed by working with the promotion of Nordic shorts and documentaries at Filmkontakt Nord - and between 1998 and 2011 Cecilia Lidin held a position at the European Documentary Network, primarily responsible for a number of the international workshops for developing and financing documentaries, and finally as Head of the organization until she left to take the position as documentary film consultant at the Swedish Film Institute, which she is at present. Cecilia Lidin has served on numerous festival juries around Europe, and between 2006 and 2009 she was Artistic Director of Odense International Film Festival.
